Catering and Fundraising

The Beaver Valley Athletic Association Catering was put into place when the new Beaver Valley Community Centre was built in 1987. At that time we catered to various events to pay our pledge to the building of our community centre and arena.

When that pledge was paid off, the money raised through catering has gone to help subsidize sports for the youth of our community to make it more affordable and various things done in the community (i.e. track at the Beaver Valley Community School, baseball diamonds at Moreau Park etc.)

The catering committee caters to a variety of events from anniversary parties, weddings, Christmas parties, birthday parties to a small luncheon etc. The host of the event chooses the menu which we follow.

Volunteers are a very important aspect to the B.V.A.A. to help keep costs low for everyone. When asked to volunteer for catering, you could be doing a number of items to help -- from setting tables, counting dishes, help in the preparing food, serving food to doing dishes only to name a few. Morning, late afternoon and evening shifts are available.

This is a great opportunity for you to network with other parents whose children are enrolled in a sport through the B.V.A.A. as well as a limited number of volunteers who help us out at these events.

PLEASE NOTE the fees charged for your child’s sport are only partially covering the cost for them to partake in their favorite sport. Our only fundraising venture at present is catering and without volunteers there will be no subsidy for B.V.A.A. sports programs. Therefore the fees of the child’s sport will ultimately rise!!!

The B.V.A.A. is Community oriented, therefore we ask for your support and volunteer time to help with the catering. As mentioned, it is for all the children in our sports programs. If you know of another adult in the community who wishes to volunteer, please pass this name along. High school students are welcome to make up their community service hours.
